Apartment description
The apartment is located in one of the most classical buildings in the centre of Barcelona. Built in 1883, it is classified as a historic building. Its latest refurbishment was completed in september 1999. It is an impressive building from outside, but also from inside. Going up to the first floor, where the apartment is located, you walk through a impressive hallway with marble floors and beautiful buckets with plants in it.
This apartment has an open and natural atmosphere, and it gives a very clear and bright impression. The basic colour used is white, there is a beautiful light brown parquet on the floor and the furniture and assesoires are of natural colours; brown and green. You can also recognize this natural style in the many paintings and prints on the walls. The windows and doors have green stain glass pains which is typical of the modernist style, a style so typical for this region.
Walking through the hallway you are already immersed in the natural style, thanks to the wooden furniture and the natural accessories. You enter the living room by opening the beautiful glass doors. While entering, the brightness of the apartment will overwhelm you. The apartment has enough windows to receive lots of natural light. The sitting area is stylish and the sofas are comfortable enough to relax after a whole day of sightseeing or shopping in the many brand shops just around the corner on Passeig the Gracia. There are two sofas that can be turned into individual beds.
The real eyecatcher of this room is the beautiful chimney, decorated with beautiful prints and paintings. A romantic atmosphere is created by putting on the torches and the candles. The living room has a plasma screen TV and a DVD player.
The kitchen is open and very clear with a white marble floor and white closets. It is fully equipped, moreover it contains a toaster, a kettle, a juicer, pots and pans, an oven, a microwave and a coffee maker. The kitchen also contains a table with four chairs which are in the fresh colour of lime green.
The main bedroom is very large and luxurious with connection to the two balconies and its direct connection to the first bathroom. It has a kingsize bed with light blue blankets and pillows in natural colours; light brown and yellow. On both sides of the bed there are little wooden tables with a lamp on it for your late night reading. Above the bed there is a broad mirror with an impressive wooden frame.
With a small marble step, this room is connected with the modern bathroom. This bathroom has a beautiful broad grey-coloured marble sink, a shower and a toilet.
The second bedroom has a double bed and a big wardrobe. There are two more bedrooms with both a single bed, a wardrobe and large windows. The second bathroom is complete with a shower and a bath.
This is an amazing apartment in the ideal location for exploring the best of buzzing and lively Barcelona.
Area information
The Eixample area is the main shopping district in Barcelona located around the boulevards of Passeig de Gracia and Rambla de Catalunya which lead to Plaza de Catalunya. This area features all the best restaurants, cafes, museums, galleries and shops.
Because the apartment is located at the lower end of Passeig de Gracia, it is a wonderful location for visiting Barcelona. It is right in the middle of the upmarket shopping and restaurant area yet still very close to the heart of La Ramblas and Gothic Quarter with its narrow streets, great atmosphere and exuberant nightlife.
It has parking nearby and the local metro and train station at Passeig de Gracia is a central hub station for the entire city.There are a number of excellent city beaches available and, of course, the Costa Brava beaches such as Sitges (30 mins) are located all along the coast and are very easy reachable with trains leaving from the underground station next door.
