Best time to visit Barcelona
Barcelona offers a pleasant warm temperature nearly all year round. During the summer (July, August and September) temperture can go up to 30 °C. The average annual temperature is about 17°C. During the winter it can be a little bit colder, but nevertheless the sun shines most of the time.
The best times to visit our apartments in Barcelona are from March until July and from September until November. In this time the temperature is ideal to enjoy your stay and Barcelona is full with plenty of life.
During the period of July to September, when the temperatures are very high, it becomes very sticky and humid in Barcelona. The highest average daily temperature during these months is of 29°C. In November and December you may be surprised by a little rain and a cooler climate.
How to get to Barcelona
The airport of Barcelona is situated about 12 km to the south of the centre of Barcelona. From the airport it is easy to get to the city by taxi or by bus.
A taxi can bring you to your accommodation in about 20 - 30 minutes, for approximately 25 Euro. And in Barcelona the taxi-drivers ask 1 Euro pro suitcase.
The airport-bus ('Aerobus') brings you to the central places of Barcelona within 30 minutes: Plaza España and Plaza Cataluña. From there you can take a taxi or the underground to your apartment. The airport-bus departs daily every 15 minutes, from 06.00 h - 24.00 h.
If you travel by train to Barcelona you will reach the city at the Sants Station. This station is located outside of the old city centre of Barcelona but it has good subway connections and taxis, which can bring you easily and quickly to your apartment in the centre.
Transportation inside Barcelona
The public transport network in Barcelona is excellent - you can go practically everywhere by bus or subway and you will find a bus stop or a subway station close to your apartment.
And the subways are cheap: for a short stay in Barcelona the best subway-ticket to buy is a 10-ride ticket (T-10 ticket) for 6,30 Euro.
Of course Barcelona has lots of taxi's which aren't expensive as well. Only during the nights it can be hard to find one.

Barcelona has infinity of interesting sites to know: museums and monuments (the Museum of Modern Art), buildings and old constructions, churches (Sagrada Family, the Cathedral of Barcelona, Santa Maria of the Sea and the Basilica of the Mercè), beaches (Sant Sebastià, Barceloneta, New Icària, Bogatell, Beautiful Sea and New Beautiful Sea), natural parks (like the park well and Gaudi), Gastronomical Routes, interesting places of the city like the boulevard, Tibidabo, Montjuic, the sources of Montjuic.

Shopping and opening hours in Barcelona
Make sure you check if a shop or museum is open at sundays because almost everything is closed at sundays. At saturdays almost everything stays open till approximately 14.00 h.
From mondays - friday:
Banks are open until 14.00 h.
The most shops close for 2 at midday for siesta, approximately from 14.00 to 16.00 h.
The larger shops don;t have siesta anymore and are open all day from 10.00 to 21.00 h.
Most important museums remain open all day, except for mondays.
