Unterkunftsbeschreibung
The apartment is located on the third floor of an ancient building beside the Rossio square. From its small windows you have a nice view to the square, to the church of S. Domingos and also to the Castle S Jorge. The building dates back to the 16th Century and survived the big earthquake in 1755. The apartment is in the heart of the historical center of Lisbon, next door to all kinds of traditional commerce, fashionable shops and to numerous restaurants of all kinds. It is also a short walking distance from the other picturesque neighbourhoods of Castle (S. Jorge), Alfama, Chiado and Bairro Alto. It is also walking distance to the subway and train stations that can take you to the beaches around Lisbon and to all the sightseeing inside and outside the city. The apartment has one living room with a double sofa bed and TV, one bedroom with a double bed, one bedroom with 2 single beds, a kitchen with everything you need and a bathroom
We will welcome you with a bottle of cold “vinho verde”.
You will also find in the apartment various CDs with typical Portuguese music to complete your cultural experience in Lisbon.
Around the apartment
This apartment is set in the city centre, next door to Rossio and Praça da Figueira.
After the great earthquake of 1755, when the centre of Lisbon was destroyed, a new one was constructed, made of grid pattern “geometrical” streets. This area, situated between Praça do Comércio, Rossio and Praça da Figueira is called Baixa. Largo de S Domingos communicates also with Rua das Portas de Santo Antão, the location of many excellent fish restaurants as recommended by many city guides.
